Other World, the latest installation at the University of Western Australia’s (UWA) Virtlantis sim runs until the end of the March. Don’t miss your opportunity to visit this full sim installation by the artists of Mysterious Wave.
Cherry Manga, Anley Piers and Elfe Imako have combined to create a futuristic landscape of incredible machines and mysterious structures.
According to the artists…
This exhibition shows the irony of machine beings, supposed to be heartless and without emotional feelings able to live in respect of its environment, and in harmony with all members of its community … and the sad conclusion that human beings in 2011 are still fighting for power, for money, for religion, not able to think of the future of our children, continuously draining all that earth can give.
I was quite intrigued on my visit to Other World with its interesting and ecclectic combination of machines, robots, and buildings. The installation had a very surreal feel to it with its beams of light, robots and futuristic buildings. It certainly offered up alot of very interesting compositions for photographs.
UWA’s Virtlantis features monthly full sim installations by some of the Second Life’s most creative and imaginative arts and builders.
